Filming tips for better feedback
Better footage means more detailed feedback. For the best results on mirror checks and head position, follow these tips before you hit record.
Film from the passenger seat
This angle clearly shows your head turning, shoulder checks and mirror glances — the same view your examiner gets.
Wide-angle dashcam works too
Great for road positioning and hazard awareness. Pair with a second angle for observation checks if possible.
Keep audio on
Audio lets us hear prompts from a parent or commentary gaps that suggest hesitation or uncertainty.
No need for perfect quality
A phone propped on the dash is absolutely fine. As long as the road ahead is visible we can give useful feedback.

Do I need to be a SAR learner?
No. Anyone can upload — whether you're practising with a parent, preparing for a retest or learning with a different school.
Why can't the examiner see my mirror checks?
Examiners can only credit a check if they see your head and eyes move. Subtle movement gets marked as a fault. We catch this on video — it's one of the most common hidden reasons people fail.
What file formats do you accept?
Any standard format — MP4, MOV, AVI or MKV. Files up to 2GB. If larger, trim it or compress with HandBrake first.
How will I receive my feedback?
Written feedback by email within 48 hours, with timestamped fault notes so you can jump straight to each moment in your video.
What if my video is slightly over the time limit?
We'll review the most relevant section. If significantly over, we'll email you to upgrade or trim before we begin.
Can I use this instead of a driving lesson?
