Calm, honest teaching
Nervous learners, complete beginners, people switching instructor, drivers coming back after years away — everyone gets patient teaching and straight feedback. The aim isn't just to pass; it's to be a safe driver for life.
Structure beats luck
Every SAR lesson follows the same 53-topic syllabus, from the cockpit drill to independent driving. Your instructor rates each topic after every lesson in your printed progress logbook, so you can see exactly what's covered and what's next.
Prove it, don't claim it
We don't just say we know Bletchley — we filmed it. Our free guides to the roundabouts and roads around the test centre are made by the instructors who teach them, and every pass photo in our gallery is one of our own pupils.
You book with SAR, not with a stranger
Most driving schools are a directory: you pick a name and hope. SAR works differently.
Matched, not listed
Tell us your postcode, manual or automatic, and when you're free. We match you with a DVSA-approved SAR instructor who covers your area and your times, and they contact you directly. If it isn't the right fit, you can change instructor within SAR — and if you've paid SAR, your remaining hours move with you.
Trained to the SAR standard
Every SAR instructor is DVSA-approved. We also train new instructors in-house: our instructor trainer has more than ten years' teaching experience and has trained over fifty people to become driving instructors, so the standard is set inside the school rather than bought in.
Cover when life happens
Pay SAR and your hours are held by SAR Driving School Ltd, not by an individual. If your instructor is ill, on holiday or stops teaching, another SAR instructor takes over and your balance carries across. How paying works →
Local, and growing carefully
Lessons start from your door in Milton Keynes — Bletchley, Wolverton, Newport Pagnell, Stony Stratford and everywhere between — with Bedford, Northampton and Leighton Buzzard covered too. As we grow, we train instructors who already live in those towns rather than sending people out from MK.

We're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office for data protection (reference ZC216360).
