Bond Avenue — the double roundabout, straight ahead
Two small roundabouts one after the other on Bond Avenue, with road markings that have worn quite faded. Going straight ahead means reading those markings early, moving across for the second roundabout at the right moment, and expecting that other drivers may have misread them.
What you'll be asked to do
- The instruction is to follow the road ahead at the roundabout.
- You are advised to use the right-hand lane for the second roundabout.
The markings are faded
The road markings on the approach have worn quite faded, so read them early rather than leaving it until the give-way line. The markings show that this lane takes you straight ahead.
First roundabout
Pay attention to the markings, make sure you have positioned yourself in the correct lane, and give priority to traffic coming from your right.
Between the two
This is where the close attention pays off. You need to move across for the second roundabout — check your right mirror first, then move.
Anticipate other drivers
Because the markings are faded, another vehicle may misread them and end up in the wrong lane. Expecting that in advance is what lets you stay aware and react safely rather than being surprised by it.
Second roundabout
Give priority to traffic from the right again as you enter.
