Denbigh (IKEA) Roundabout — turning right for the 3rd exit
Arriving at the Denbigh (IKEA) roundabout from the Roman Roundabout with the instruction to turn right and take the third exit. This one is about reading the road early, holding the lane you start in, and counting the exits as you pass them.
Take the instruction apart
- The instruction is 'turn right, third exit'.
- Read the road markings, then get into the correct lane — well before the roundabout, not on the give-way line.
On approach
Give priority to traffic already on the roundabout, coming from your right. Count the exits as you pass them so you don't lose track of which one you want.
Read the markings
Both lanes on the approach turn right here. Follow the right-turn arrow in the lane you are already in and stay in it — there is no need to change lanes on the roundabout itself.
Coming off
Once you have passed the second exit, take the third. Follow your lane round and move over towards the left as your lane allows, so you leave in the left-hand lane rather than the overtaking lane.
